Mission
The international team of Ujeli Care Centre aims to provide qualitative free primary medical care for children in the Pokhara region, so these children can focus on their friends, families and school; just as kids are supposed to. We – as young volunteers – believe that every helping hand makes a difference. We strive to teach, care and cure in a broad sense. At the health centre in Parshyang, free diagnostics, education and treatment are available 6 days a week. Whether a boy needs a simple wound cleaned and covered after playing with his friends, a young mother needs advice on breast feeding, or a little girl has a spiking fever; Ujeli Care Centre will offer medical help, free of charge.
We also provide this kind of medical and non-medical care in more remote and inaccessible regions. Through the existing school structure in these mountain villages, all children receive a general health check-up as well as education about first aid, hand and dental hygiene.
In this way we work both in a preventive and curative manner, to improve the health of the disadvantaged children in Nepal.

Vision
We have felt the need to grow and provide better care for the Nepali children in the past few years. In the future, we will be working on our diagnostic capabilities by establishing our own medical lab and X-ray unit. As an addition to the current health center, the Ujeli Dental Clinic will tackle the far too common dental problems of Nepali children, seamlessly connecting with our preventive and educational efforts. As Ujeli Care Centre keeps evolving , we will strive to organize more specialized care through an emergency room, general pediatric ward and small operating room in our own 'Ujeli Children's Charity Hospital’.
In addition to the clinical aspect of our organisation, education will keep having an important position within the daily practice of Ujeli Care Centre. We work hard on a system of controlled peer-to-peer education with a focus on expertise training. This is a challenging work-in-progress, but we believe that this will bring us an efficient and qualitative education.
We will be working towards these goals together with our international volunteer community to provide qualitative and free child care, with a particular emphasis on continuity of care and long-term follow-up.
